About the Job
- Work on a variety of projects.
- Work alongside more experienced engineers and designers to perform 2D drafting and 3D modeling tasks. Design will be prepared using Office and Department standards and procedures.
- The Structural Designer will become familiar with project scopes, specifications and design criteria when assigned to a project team. He or she must participate in design reviews with other disciplines to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations.
- Must be receptive to directions in the preparation of acceptable technical solutions. The Structural Designer must interact well with other disciplines in order to complete tasks.
- The Structural Designer will be responsible for acquisition and presentation of field data.
- The Structural Designer must be a self-starter who willingly accepts and seeks challenging responsibilities and takes ownership of results and performance.
- The Structural Designer must have the ability to take on increasing roles of responsibilities as their skills develop and grow eventually into a Senior Designer role.
- The Structural Designer must meet Office work schedule with regular and reliable attendance.
- The Structural Designer will work alongside engineers to develop conceptual layouts for cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest and most cost effective designs for clients.
- The Structural Designer will be expected to perform all work to the best of their ability in an efficient manner without unnecessary errors.
Job Requirements
- The Structural Designer must have a minimum of 7 years’ of relevant experience in the drafting / design of reinforced concrete.
- The ideal range of experience is 7 to 10 years and related to residential and commercial building.
- The Structural Designer must have solid conceptual and design process skills and good problem solving ability.
- The Structural Designer must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- The Structural Designer must have the ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined.
