An international S&T NGO is seeking to employ a staff member in Fundraising and Development Department
Job Title: Fundraiser
Characteristics and Duties:
– University Degree in business, economics, accounting, investment banking, MA (a plus).
– 5-plus years of professional experience in a nonprofit organization; demonstrated success in a development function (managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources)
– Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills.
• Take initiative to build relationships with potential funders including individual community donors.
• Generate new ideas and business opportunities to increase fundraising and fund development to meet and exceed revenue goals. Establish an ongoing fundraising program.
• Develop an annual fundraising plan and budget. Develop revenue and expense reports for all fundraiser events after the event is completed.
• Prepare grants/ project proposals and progress reports as required by program contract and agreements.
• Search and research potential donors and foundations to identify and evaluate potential funding sources.
• Make initial contacts, and follow-through of securing available funding along with the coordination of all optional funding opportunities.
• Build and maintain profitable, long-term fundraising relationships with current donors and potential donors.
• Flexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical.
• Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations.
• Developing new and imaginative fundraising activities, often events-based.
• Working with media outlets to promote, market and advertise forthcoming events.
• Building and maintaining long-term fundraising relationships.
• Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors.
• Creating and executing a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors.
• Developing and tracking proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising.
• Excellent time-management skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of developing a fundraising plan.
• Increasing funds through researching and targeting charitable trusts sympathetic to the charity
• Suggest other innovative ideas for effective resource mobilization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as negotiation skills.
• Excellent skills in both English and Arabic (reading and writing), and excellent skill on using computer (word-processing and communication) programs.
