About the Job

Work on a variety of projects.
Work alongside more experienced engineers and designers to perform 2D drafting and 3D modeling tasks. Design will be prepared using Office and Department standards and procedures.
The Structural Designer will become familiar with project scopes, specifications and design criteria when assigned to a project team. He or she must participate in design reviews with other disciplines to evaluate design concepts and make recommendations.
Must be receptive to directions in the preparation of acceptable technical solutions. The Structural Designer must interact well with other disciplines in order to complete tasks.
The Structural Designer will be responsible for acquisition and presentation of field data.
The Structural Designer must be a self-starter who willingly accepts and seeks challenging responsibilities and takes ownership of results and performance.
The Structural Designer must have the ability to take on increasing roles of responsibilities as their skills develop and grow eventually into a Senior Designer role.
The Structural Designer must meet Office work schedule with regular and reliable attendance.
The Structural Designer will work alongside engineers to develop conceptual layouts for cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest and most cost effective designs for clients.
The Structural Designer will be expected to perform all work to the best of their ability in an efficient manner without unnecessary errors.

Job Requirements

The Structural Designer must have a minimum of 7 years’ of relevant experience in the drafting / design of reinforced concrete.
The ideal range of experience is 7 to 10 years and related to residential and commercial building.
The Structural Designer must have solid conceptual and design process skills and good problem solving ability.
The Structural Designer must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
The Structural Designer must have the ability to consistently meet deadlines, completing tasks as previously defined.
