A large educational institution “Help desk /Computer Support Technician”
Position Summary:
The Help desk/Computer Support Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining business workstations, software/printer installs and troubleshooting.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Install and update operating systems
Diagnose errors in Windows, Office, and other company applications
– Install and configure printers
– Install and troubleshoot all computer-related devices (video, sound, modem, printer, scanner, camera, etc.)
-Remove viruses/spyware/malware
-Assist computer users both on location and by phone.
-Performs other duties and functions as assigned.

Skills & Personal Characteristics:
-Two plus years of hands of related experience including troubleshooting of operating systems, virus, and network/internet connection issues.
-Hands on experience trouble shooting Microsoft Office projects primarily Office 2007.
– A+ certification or equivalent knowledge of computer hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting.
-Command Line, Windows 9xME/2000/XP/Vista and Windows 7/Windows 8.
– Experience with software installations and upgrading Antivirus & system cleaning
-Demonstrated ability to research online and work through problems.
– Must be detail oriented with the ability to maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
– Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
– Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate technical information in layman’s terms
