Install and support network segments, Internet, and intranet systems. • Consulting with clients to specify system requirements and design solutions. • Install and maintain network hardware and software. • Maintain network servers. • Determine network and system requirements. • Budgeting for equipment and assembly costs. • Assembling new systems. • Maintaining existing software and hardware and upgrading any that have become obsolete. • Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users. • Evaluate and modify systems performance. • Identify user needs. • Analyze and isolate issues. • Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security. • Perform network address assignment. • Design and deploy networks. • Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration. • Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services. • Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers. • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smart phones, software deployment, security updates and patches. • Other duties may be assigned later.
