Category Manager – Light Household
Role:
To be responsible for the procurement of commodities through the development and implementation of commodity strategies plans and the management of supplier relationship
Responsibilities:
• Following-up the sales and margin yearly budgets by category/department and per store
• Implementing the promotional plans
• Launching new products/assortments
• Sourcing for suppliers
• Quality test and trial – Occasional quality control on existing products and actions against underperforming ones
• Coordinating with the branding agency on the packaging layout
• Category/items RSPs and margin analysis to set the PL pricing strategy
• Monitoring on implementation and maintenance of the visibility plano-gram
• Coordination with the supply group to ensure a precise ordering
• Supervising the inventory, wastage and products life cycle
• React to customers comments
• Frequent competitors checking
• Reporting store visits
• Negotiating offers with the suppliers (flyer)
• Constant market studies of costs/RSPs to adjust PL range accordingly; while keeping a higher margin versus branded FMCG and general merchandise items
• Monthly review on sales and margin
• Observing the extra displays set up and follow-up
• Ensuring the presence of the POS materials at the stores
• Achieving an extra income

Prerequisites
• 3-5 years of experience in purchasing
• Excellent procurement and buying skills
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Retail/hypermarket experience is as added value
