Administrative and Financial Officer, Law, and Society Research Unit (Grant Position)
Principal Accountabilities:
Manage Law and Society Research Unit Financial Transactions:

Process day-to-day financial transactions, purchase requisitions, external services contracts in line with allocated budget, donor guidelines and AUC policies and regulations
Secure and maintain necessary approvals and documentation for all financial and administrative functions
Review and reconciliation of quarterly and annual grants financial reports
Prepare budget transfer and annual budget roll-over requests
Manage payments for law and society research unit full and part-time employees
Manage the logistics and payments for law and society research unit activities
Create budget documents and follow up with budget implementation for law and society research unit grants under the supervision of the managing director, and in coordination with the Office of Sponsored Programs and others

Administrative Functions:

Maintain files for grants narrative proposals and budgets, regular financial and narrative reports, and others
Initiate contracts for law and society research unit consultants, and liaise with the AUC legal department for the initiation of contracts for full-time employees and service providers, under the supervision of the managing director
Book-keeping in hard and soft copies of supply receipts, reimbursement, and maintenance of office equipment, furniture, supplies, and other
Maintain files for formal agreements, memorandums of understanding, and others
Oversee office clerk management of inventory, maintenance, and office supplies
Manage all arrangements for faculty director and managing director meetings with Office of the Provost, Office of Sponsored Programs and other entities, providing all necessary logistical needs as assigned

Requirements:
Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
Experience: Four to five years of relevant experience
Skills:

Financial reporting and Budgeting
Organizational and time management skills
Ability to communicate widely and professionally with university admin., staff and faculty
Excellent command of English and Arabic, both oral and written
Good working knowledge of SAP
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in computer use especially Microsoft applications
