Quality Control Engineer at Lafarge
Location: Sites
Scope:
– The Quality Control Engineer is in charge of supervising the QC activities in his plants, and reports progress to area QC Manager. He / She works on achieving own KPIs according to yearly objectives
– He / She Controls the quality for 2 to 4 concrete plants with production of 50K – 250Km3 / year, OR 5 to 15 Projects / year OR 15-25M EGP EBITDA / year
– Follow-up arc length: 50 – 100Kms (travel distance from station)
CORE VALUES
– Ensures full implementation of the company Safety rules and precautions within his / her plants
– Ensures all the QC related work practices in his / her plant/s comply with the code of business conduct
– He / She reports any breaches to the QC manager
RESULTS
– Contributes in the concrete mix design optimization program for projects assigned to him / her in line with the optimization strategy set and communicated.
– Supports any commercial opportunities, or VAPs production within his / her plants by applying continuous focus on operations control
CUSTOMER FOCUS & SATISFACTION
– Supervises the implementation of the necessary QC procedures to ensure mitigating risks that can affect conformity of products, services and ability to enhance customer satisfaction.
– Reports incidents and complains and decides for corrective and preventive measures in his / her plant/s.
– Works on building-up strong relationships with customers served by his / her plant/s
– Covers all Quality related complains for his / her plant/s and reports internal NCRs to QC Manager Supports the sales team by instant response to customers complains.
– Follows up on the implementation of production controls closely
PROBLEM SOLVING
– In charge of root cause analysis for are quality incidents in his / her plant/s by implementing the accredited problem solving concept
– Ensures such concept includes: problems definition, magnitude and impact on business – root cause analysis – improvement “corrective” measures – control “preventive” measures
– Interacts with third party labs for testing and NCRs closure in coordination with the QC Supervisor
QC ORGANIZATION & PROJECTS
– Supervisors the work force deployment for his plant/s
– Contributes in project teams within his / her area, and lead projects assigned to his / her plants, i.e.(tracks project implementation and reports progress)
RAW MATERIALS SOURCING & BENCHMARKING
– Keeps full records history for each raw material source within his cluster,
– Reports deviations from agreements or specs to the area QC Manager / Director.
– Monitors the raw materials stockpiling management relevant to key projects and reports monthly figures of raw materials control.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
– Responsible of Quality plan, Quality Procedures implementation
– Designs procedures for testing activities in the cluster, gets them approved by QC Manager / Director
– Responsible of tracking the data analysis and reporting any deviations from standards
MIX DESIGN CATALOG
– In charge of mix design catalog updates (mixes uploading / adjustment) for his / her plants, by using the group software programs – LapMIX – showing high mastery level.
– Ensures all uploaded mixes are validated and operational.
– Applies more focus on analyzing mixes records and reports mix catalog statistics
PROJECTS SUBMITTALS & MIXES
– Reviews the technical specifications for the medium-to-small projects, and designs the relevant concrete mixes for the projects assigned to him / her and get them accredited by the QC Manager.
– Prepares all projects submittals for medium-to-small projects being served by his / her plant/s in coordination with the area QC Supervisor / Manager. (Method statements, mix designs, technical letters / mails and reports).
INNOVATION & VAPs DEVELOPMENT
– Contributes in the Implementation of VAPs through monitoring the performance of the key VAPs batched at his / her plants, and reports any deviation from the group’s standards for each VAP.
– Ensures full products record and literature to reinforce the marketing packages.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor Degree Engineering (Materials, Civil Engineer) or industry equivalent of education and experience, (International certificate holder is a plus)
Technical Skills:
– Concrete components: cement and cementitious materials, aggregates, admixtures / additives, water
– Mix design (standard concrete, mortars and special products)
– Durability (general knowledge)
– Concrete Operations (batching, mixing, transporting, pumping)
– Good knowledge of plant equipment
Experience: From 1 to 3 Years of relevant experience.
