Hindawi Publishing Corporation is now hiring “In-House Screening Specialist” to ensure that the manuscripts that are sent for peer-review meet the established standards.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that the subject matter of a manuscript falls within the scope of the journal’s coverage to fulfill the publication’s standards.
2. Review the manuscript’s type to guarantee that it is submitted in the journal with the right type.
3. Perform rigorous searches to make sure that the manuscript has neither been published elsewhere, nor is under review elsewhere.
4. Review the manuscripts’ references to detect any potential citation manipulation (i.e. whether the purpose of them is to increase the number of citations to a given author’s work or to articles published in a particular journal).
5. Search authors’ history to make sure that there are no sanctions preventing them from submitting their manuscripts to the journal, and not involved in any unethical misconduct.
6. Upload the manuscript to Scigen Detection Tool to detect Scigen generated papers (fake papers).
7. Review the manuscripts’ files (Main PDF, Cover Letter, and Supplementary Material) to confirm that there are no missing items and that they are suitable to start the review process.
8. Check if there is a possible conflict of interests between Guest Editors and authors by scrutinizing the authors’ publications.
9. Take the proper action on screened manuscripts whether by approving, rejecting, or transferring them to a more appropriate journal.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor degree in any field
– 0-1 year of experience
– Upper Intermediate English level
– Intermediate level of Computer knowledge
– Good business writing skills
