1- Helping academic and administrative staff with various computer problems and answering questions. The assistant must be patient and considerate; assistant should be proactive not having to wait for problems to arise to fix them. 2- Creating new accounts for users, installing new software and maintaining any hardware or software within the university. 3- Assisting with various issues that may arise, such as e-mail problems, software issues, virus problems, etc. 4- Performing tasks given to them by the IT team or other computer related assignments given to them by faculty members; such as burning CDs, moving computer equipment or installing software packages
Qualifications – A university degree or 4 years institutional degree; preferably a technical field. •Minimum 2 years’ experience with software and hardware maintenance •Experience installing, configuring and repairing windows installations •Experience using Linux as an operating system or server installation
