Functions:
The Clinical Research Informatics Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing informatics programs to enable clinical and translational research objectives.
Responsibilities:
Work as part of a team responsible for deploying, configuring and supporting research informatics systems
Work directly with researchers and labs to document, analyze, and translate their needs and workflows into technical designs and informatics solutions.
Ensure a high level of client satisfaction by monitoring the delivery of ongoing informatics systems.
Provide day to day support and monitoring in a Linux environment including operating software, security compliance, maintenance and performance troubleshooting.
Possess knowledge and understanding of working with network infrastructures, Firewalls, Routers, and TCP/IP.
Perform database tuning, performance monitoring and audits.
Identify and implement practices to increase server reliability and performance.
Take a self-directed leadership role in the support and resolution of complex technical issues.
Interact with other personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines.
Interact effectively with users and management to ensure delivery and use of applications.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in computer science, information systems, or other related field.
Strong working experience with various flavors of Linux, understanding of Linux systems administration (FC, CentOS, RHEL).
Extensive knowledge and proven experience in Linux system Administration.
JBOSS application server administration experience.
Ability to manage enterprise software.
Experience in LAMP stack, scripting, Apache web server administration, configurations and load balancing setups.
Previous experience with Microsoft .NET and java.
Previous experience with SQL server and MYSQL.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot hardware, software and operating system problems.
Minimum of two (2) years experience in Healthcare IT.
Experience working in multiple/complex research environments
Ability to communicate and troubleshoot with both a technical and non-technical audience.
Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision.
Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Fluent English spoken and written.
Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
