The Embassy of Denmark in Cairo is recruiting a Political Analyst / Local Programme Advisor.
Tasks
As a Political Analyst

• Media review and political updates based on the daily Egyptian press and the social media.
• Political analyses in coordination with the Ambassador and the Political Officer.
• Facilitation of contacts with the Egyptian administration as well as with political and social actors.

As a Local Programme Advisor for the Danish Arab Partnership Programme (DAPP)

• Engage in outreach activities with civil society and other stakeholders and contribute to regular analysis of the reform dynamics in Egypt.
• Liaise closely with all programme partners in Egypt and Denmark and facilitate the coordination of programme engagements in Egypt, promoting knowledge-sharing, complementarity and synergies.
• Help to ensure donor coordination with other donors working in the same areas and help share relevant programme information to strengthen donor coordination in Egypt.
(The Danish Arab Partnership Programme (DAPP) is a central pillar in Denmark’s cooperation with Egypt and the broader MENA region. The DAPP aims to support democratization and reform processes in the region and to promote dialogue between Denmark and the MENA region. The Programme builds on strong equal partnerships between Danish and regional civil society stakeholders. DAPP has three cross-cutting themes: gender, youth and outreach.)

Requested Profile

• University degree (preferably in a social science, law or related subjects).
• At least 5 years relevant working experience
• Excellent knowledge of the political landscape and socio-economic situation in Egypt, an existing network in the political fields including government authorities, NGOs, political think tanks and international institutions.
• Arabic as mother tongue
• Excellent knowledge of English, written and spoken.
