Description The Data Base Administrator has primary responsibility for the implementation, maintenance, and performance of Oracle and SQL products and other database management systems (DBMS), and their successful integration with other solutions. Major technical duties include installation, configuration, and upgrade of Oracle and other DBMS products and application system software, monitoring and tuning database performance, establishing user access controls, database security, defining/modifying database objects, managing Oracle application server and capacity planning. THE DBAs main responsibility will be supporting the Oracle database for Banner – the student information system of the university.

Qualifications University Degree in Computer Science, information systems or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Certified Oracle or SQL DBA (Preferred). Minimum 3 years experience in Oracle database administration and programming. Minimum one year experience in MS-SQL database administration and programming. Excellent written and oral communications skills and strong service orientation. Oracle DBA hands on installation and maintenance. MS-SQL DB server DBA hands on installation and maintenance. Technically fluent in servers and database administration. Knowledge of enterprise-level applications. Ability to use statistical analysis techniques such as root cause analysis to evaluate and solve potential quality problems.
