Job Purpose

• Authorized Signatory (A).

• Direct reporting to Trade Finance – Senior Manager.

• To manage and monitor any of Trade Finance Products including Import / Export L/Cs + Import /Export B/Cs, Local / Foreign Guarantees as well as Stand by L/Cs.

• Ensure delivery of the right messages to the right people at the right time.

• Monitor and adopt the communications style within his team and approach to maximize impact and effectiveness.

• Build and develop a diverse and commercially important network of internal and external relationships.

• Manage the delivery of multi process steps across several processes.

• Drive the action needed to ensure ongoing alignment within a process.

• Manage resources to maximize effectiveness and efficiency particular during peaks and through in demand.

• Analysis .

• To design the solutions required to resolve service issues and problems, in order to improve customer’s experience and / or service performance or may address new service requirements.

Main accountabilities and approximate time split

Accountability: Business Activities

Time split 30%

Outputs:

• – Create an operational excellence environment driving team to deliver ever-improving performance standards that meets and even exceeds agreed service levels (Internal / External), taking ownership of overall service performance and accuracy levels.

• – Meet standards for various processing activities & Comply with Operational risk and Rigor standards in respect of protecting people, customers, assets and the Organization and also managing / ensuring resolution of issues escalated by subordinates.

• – Create an environment where new ideas and innovations are routinely generated.

• – Use concepts, models and other people’s ideas to generate true innovations.

• – Able to take ownership of continuous improvement.

-Manage and drive transformational change within and across teams.

-Manage and involve the relevant stakeholders to ensure change is successful.

-Manage and recognize consequences and risks.

-Working towards reducing Complaints to the minimum & in case received, make sure they are resolved in accordance with procedures.

-Identify improvements to processes & procedures that help improve operational effectiveness & champion these improvements within agreed timelines.

– Manage completion of RCA Testing before deadline within & across teams.

-Monitoring daily workflow within department.

Outputs:

• – Manage governance and risk management processes and embed the ways of working needed to ensure effective compliance and risk management.

• – Able to anticipate the operational risks inherent in operational plans and ensure the actions and responsibilities are in place to mitigate them.

• -Able to research , review and provide briefing materials for high profile meetings.

• – Able to identify the most appropriate content, format and delivery mechanisms for outward information based on an understanding of the target audience ‘s needs.

• – Work with wider team and stakeholders to define and agree incoming and outgoing information requirements by using different information sources.

– Translate medium term plans into specific activity and capability requirements.

Accountability: Staff Management

Time split 50 %

Outputs:

• Ability to forecast priorities and negotiate demand in order to identify specific capacity requirements.

• Translate activity, capability and capacity requirements into operating plans.

• Able to articulate and negotiate the resources requirements needed to deliver plans.

• Track overall performance against the plan anticipate risks and issues and making recommendations for how they can be mitigated.

• Able to influence and negotiate effectively, looking for and achieving mutually advantageous outcomes.

• Able to use appropriate people in their network to enhance the relationship with others.

TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

• Ability to communicate whether orally or in writing.

• Interpersonal Skills.

• Knowledge of work operations and operational Risk Management.

• Good Managerial skills.

• Good Computer knowledge, familiarity with using various office automation equipment & Swift.

• Self-motivated enjoying a good ability to work with others (within the department / other departments) with a high spirit of Team -Work.

• Work in an effective & efficient manner introducing a high standard of service quality to internal & external entities and able to meet deadline.

• Display considerable respect to bank standards as to protect & enhance Barclays Reputation.

Essential/Basic Qualifications

Knowledge, Expertise and Experience

Essential

Knowledge:

 Understanding Egypt’s products and services.

 Knowledge of Barclays Mission & Overall Policies.

 A detailed understanding of the bank operational procedures in the area.

 Advanced practice in checking / negotiating documents

 Advanced knowledge in compliance regulations including OFAC investigations –Sanction policy.

 Good Communication skills (Oral & Written).

 Analytical / Problem solving abilities, providing solutions (if needed) or otherwise bring to Management attention in a timely manner.

 Communication skills – both written and oral

 PC Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

 Interpersonal skills

 Leadership skills

 Trade Finance knowledge .

Experience:

Swift communication

At least 6 years in Trade Finance & in a supervisory position
